For the third season in a row we are proud to welcome back Playwright and Director Peter Blacklock to Villains and Vittles Dinner Theatre Productions. Peter is a gifted storyteller and writes original songs in a way that entertains and delights our audiences. Last season we received a comment from a local resident that had invited their summer visitors to Dinner Theatre. Their guests were thrilled with dinner and the play and described the evening as the “highlight of oursummer holiday”. This season Peter is spinning his talent and writing a play that will tie-in with the new museum exhibit “Billie Louie, the last of the Shuswap Riverboat Captains”. Auditions for the upcoming season start in May. Once cast, young talent will turn Peter’s work into a show stopper. This summer promises to be an exciting one! SASCU has partnered with R.J. Haney Heritage Village to construct a new outdoor amphitheatre. The theatre will be relocated to a natural bowl area, just an easy stroll from the present location. This is allows us to construct a better stage and install an improved lighting and sound system. The new theatre will also be an interpretive centre for Village and Museum tours and used for concerts, weddings etc. Construction is in progress and will be completed for opening night, July 1st. You can follow thetheatre construction on our Facebook page.

Every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday through July and August R.J. Haney Heritage Village offers a dinner and play depicting the life and times of a historical character. Written and directed by well-known local playwright Peter Blacklock, this year's Dinner Theatre offering is well under way.
The title of the play is “The Mystery of Dutch Charlie” featuring an American entrepreneur who, during the construction of the CPR, started a brewery and gambling house in Salmon Arm. It is a lively production, certain to entertain any crowd, combined with an enjoyable meal from our own Marjorie’s Tea Room. Returning guests tell us that our unique blend of great food and excellent entertainment is a highlight of the summer.
