~The "Family Tree" Project~

There is an exciting new project in its infancy at the Salmon Arm Museum.

In celebration of the new century, volunteers are actively collecting family trees from Salmon Arm residents. "If we wait passively, they'll never show up," says Deborah Chapman, Archivist. "Older families are preferred," Chapman continues. "We want to understand the relationships between families." Archive volunteers are sometimes puzzled when working on new collections, and "having family trees will dispel some of our confusion."

"Besides," adds the archivist, "collecting history is what we're supposed to be doing. This Project will be a tool we'll use for years to come." If you are interested it participating please call the direct line to the Ernie Doe Archives Room at 832-5289
