R.J. Haney Heritage Village & Museum, a registered not-for-profit charitable organization, is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich history of Salmon Arm and its surrounding communities. Established in 1963 on the traditional territories of the Secwepemc People, the Village offers a vibrant connection to the past through diverse programs, exhibits, and events.

Heritage Week Online Auction

Heritage Week kicks off with the Online Heritage Week Auction.
The auction runs from Monday, February 16, at 9:00 am to Saturday, February 21, at 3:00 pm, and is hosted on the BiddingOwl platform.
Browse early and bid often. 
Secure online payment is available, and winning bidders will be notified by email so they can pick up at the Heritage Village after the auction closes.

Do You Have the Best Pie in the Shuswap?

Ready to Stir the Pot? Bakers from across the Shuswap are invited to share their best from-scratch pie in the Best of the Shuswap Pie Baking Contest, part of BC Heritage Week celebration.

Pies are dropped off on Saturday, February 21, between 10:00 and 11:00 am at Centre Court, Piccadilly Mall, and are judged on authenticity, crust, and filling. Winners receive a commemorative ribbon, a special prize, and two tickets to Dinner Theatre — plus an invitation to take part in next year’s live Pie Auction. Winners announced at 1:00 pm.

Heritage Week 2026 – Stir the Pot

Join R.J. Haney Heritage Village & Museum in celebrating BC Heritage Week, February 16–21, 2026, with this year’s theme, “Stir the Pot.” 
Food brings us together — linking us to the land, our families, and the traditions that shape our shared history.

The week wraps up on Saturday, February 21, at the Mall at Piccadilly with Family Fun Day, featuring hands-on activities, community displays, and a special heritage exhibit exploring food as a form of heritage.

At 12:00 pm, experience one of Heritage Week’s most anticipated traditions — the Best of the Shuswap Live Pie Auction. Award-winning pies baked by past contest winners and community bakers are auctioned live in a lively, good-natured event that’s just as fun to watch as it is to bid.

With pie, history, and activities for all ages, Family Fun Day is a fitting and festive way to celebrate a week dedicated to community, culture, and the stories that feed us all.
