Heritage Week 2026 – Stir the Pot

Join us February 16–21, 2026, as R.J. Haney Heritage Village & Museum celebrates BC Heritage Week with the theme “Stir the Pot.” Food brings us together—linking us to the land, our families, and our shared traditions. This year’s theme invites everyone to explore food as a form of heritage that connects cultures and sparks conversation. Celebrate with us through a week of online activities, contests, and our popular Heritage Week Online Auction. Then, on Saturday, February 21, join us at The Mall at Piccadilly for Family Fun Day, featuring the Best of the Shuswap Pie Baking Contest and Pie Auction—a delicious way to wrap up a week dedicated to community, culture, and the stories that feed us all.

🌺 Heritage Week Online Auction – February 16-21! 🌺

The auction opens Monday, February 16, at 9:00 am and closes Saturday, February 21, at 3:00 pm, and will be hosted on the BiddingOwl online auction platform. Bidders are encouraged to visit the auction site early to browse the wide variety of items available and get ready to bid when the auction goes live.

New items will be added daily before the auction goes live, with featured items highlighted throughout the week. Winning bidders can pay easily and securely using PayPal and other available payment options. Auction items will be available for local pickup after the auction closes, with details provided to winning bidders.

Best of the Shuswap Pie Baking Contest

We’d love to invite you to take part in the Best of the Shuswap Pie Baking Contest, happening Saturday, February 21, 2026, as part of BC Heritage Week.
Event Details:
What to Bake: Your favourite from-scratch apple, berry, or fruit pie
Where: Piccadilly Mall – Centre Court on Saturday, February 21, 2026
Pie Drop-Off: 10:00–11:00 am
Judging: 11:00 am–12:00 pm
Awards Presentation: 1:00 pm

Best of the shuswap pie auction

🥧 Pie Auction: At 12:00 pm at The Mall at Piccadilly, don’t miss the Best of the Shuswap Pie Auction, featuring specially baked pies from past contest winners and celebrity bakers. Last year’s record-breaking pie sold for an astounding $7,000, and we aim to go even higher this year! Proceeds support the preservation of our local heritage. Heritage Week at the Mall — February 18–21

While you’re shopping or grabbing a coffee, take a few minutes to explore heritage displays at the Mall at Piccadilly from February 18–21. Featuring historical artifacts, photographs, and stories shared by the Salmon Arm Museum and community partners, these displays offer a sneak peek at local history — and build excitement for Family Fun Day.

Heritage Week wraps up with a can’t-miss Family Fun Day on Saturday, February 21, bringing the Museum off-site for a full day of hands-on fun, food, and community connection.

High Tea at R.J. Haney Heritage – May 31, 2026 – 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Join us for an elegant afternoon at R.J. Haney Heritage Village's 15th Annual High Tea on May 31, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Enjoy a curated menu of finger sandwiches, scones, and specialty teas by Sprig of Heather, with live entertainment, games, and the best hat contest! Tickets are $40.00, seating is limited. Early Settler School Experience

Where History Comes to Life for Students!
Step back in time and experience a school day from the early 1900s at R.J. Haney Heritage Village & Museum. Designed for Grades 1-5, this immersive program brings history to life as students take part in a traditional lesson in the Broadview Schoolhouse, explore the historic Haney House, and watch the blacksmith at work. Hands-on activities include panning for gold, churning ice cream, walking on stilts, and exploring nature trails.

Murder Mystery spring edition
June 11, 12 and 13, 2026

Step into a night of intrigue and laughter at the Sprig Murder Mystery Dinner, Opera in the Woods. Set in the 1920s, this classic whodunit unfolds when a night at the theatre takes a deadly turn. Guests become part of the story as secrets surface, motives emerge, and the mystery deepens—complete with memorable characters and a few well-timed laughs along the way. Performances take place June 11, 12, and 13. Tickets are $40 per person and include dinner; seating is limited. Can you solve it? Call for tickets 250-832-5243. 

Father's Day - June 21, 2026 – 10:00 am to 4:30 pm

Play the Pioneer Way! We are offering a special $25.00 gate admission for Dad, Mom, and all the children to celebrate Dad. Admission includes tours and scheduled activities. The Sprig of Heather restaurant will offer a special lunch in honour of Dad. Admission at the gate.

"Quilts in the Village" 
Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm

Join us for 'Quilts in the Village in partnership with the Shuswap Quilters Guild and Thread and Paper. This one-day event features special guests, a vendor village and more. Whether you're a novice or an experienced quilter, don't miss this chance to celebrate quilting artistry. Admission at the gate is $15.00 and includes event and Village attractions access. The Soirée Speakeasy at R.J. Haney Heritage Village July 18, 2026

Psst... We’ve got a little something brewing.
Step through the secret entrance and into the Soirée Speakeasy at R.J. Haney Heritage Village & Museum—where the cocktails are cold, the jazz is hot, and the law’s nowhere in sight.
Enjoy a decadent dinner by Chef Hans, prohibition-inspired sips, and a night of music, laughter, and mischief under the stars.

Dinner Theatre – July 9 to August 23, 2026

Join us in celebrating thirty one years of Villains and Vittles Dinner Theatre Productions at R.J. Haney Heritage Village! Annual Car Show - August 9, 2026 – 9:00 am to 2:00 pm

Don’t miss the Shuswap region’s largest gathering of show vehicles at the 25th Annual Car Show on August 9, 2026! From 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, explore over 100 classic cars throughout R.J. Haney Heritage Village. Enjoy a pancake breakfast, BBQ lunch, and live music. Admission is $15.00, which includes entry to Village attractions. Show vehicle owners get free registration and admission from 7:30 am to 10:00 am. Bring the family for a fun-filled day of cars, food, and entertainment in a historic setting!

Burger and Jazz night August 27, 2026 

Presented in partnership with the Salmon Arm Jazz Club, this special event includes a gourmet burger prepared by Chef Hans and the Sprig of Heather kitchen team, served with fresh local fixings. Tickets are $38.00 + GST, with local wine, cider, and beer available for purchase at the licensed bar. Gates open at 5:00 PM, with music starting at 5:30 PM. This is a rain or shine event with general seating, so come prepared for a memorable evening in the Village.

Cowboy campfire Show & Cocktail Hour! September 5, 2026

Join us for an evening of music, drama, and cowboy fun with Rob Dinwoodie and his 3-piece band! Enjoy a thrilling pre-show roping competition, followed by Western storytelling and music, topped off with a Cowboy Campfire under the stars. Snacks will be available by pre-order when you reserve your tickets.

26th Annual Harvest Celebration - September 13, 2026

Join us on Sunday, September 13, from 5:00–9:00 PM at R.J. Haney Heritage Village & Museum for a our Harvest Celebration. Enjoy a four-course farm-to-table dinner crafted by Executive Chef Hans from the Sprig of Heather Restaurant, featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients and live background music on the covered patio. Tickets are $80 + GST, with an optional wine pairing add-on available for $20 + GST. Limited seating—call 250-832-5243 to reserve your seat!


Murder Mystery Fall Edition September 17, 18 and 19, 2026

Step into an evening of suspense, laughter, and delicious dining prepared by Executive Chef Hans, at the Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre – Fall Edition. Enjoy a full evening of interactive entertainment as the mystery unfolds around you — and you just might find yourself part of the story.
Your $40 ticket includes dinner and the show, with beverages available for purchase at the bar. Gather your friends, dress for intrigue, and get ready for a fun and unforgettable night out.

Harvest School Program – September 2026

This educational program for school students in grades 1 to 3 teaches how to make apple sauce from scratch using an apple peeler and old wood stove. Beyond the hands-on experience of making applesauce, students will explore additional activities, including washing clothes on a scrub board. These activities collectively offer a holistic understanding of pioneer life, allowing students to immerse themselves in the various tasks and skills integral to daily life during that historical period. This immersive approach provides students with a well-rounded perspective, fostering a deeper appreciation for the challenges and practices of pioneers. Space is limited. Call 250-832-5243.

18th Annual Cemetery Tour

Experience history on one of Salmon Arm’s most beautiful knolls at the 18th Annual Cemetery Tour, a special event presented by R.J. Haney Heritage Village & Museum. Guided by Curator Morgan Ryder, the tour shares heartfelt stories of the men and women who shaped our community — stories of love, loss, perseverance, and triumph.
This much-anticipated event offers a chance to reflect and connect with the past in a meaningful way, as history is retold among the very headstones of the Mt. Ida Cemetery, where Salmon Arm’s early residents rest. Sunday, October 18, 2026. Tickets: $20 | Limited to 35 guests. Reserve early — this event sells out quickly.

Spooktacular October 24 and 25, 2026

Get ready for a hauntingly fun evening at R.J. Haney Heritage Village & Museum's 28th Annual Spooktacular on October 24 & 25, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:30 pm! 💰 Flash Deal! Gate admission is $16. Skip the tap and save $1—cash gets you in for $15 per person. Kids 5 & under are free! Enjoy family-friendly Halloween thrills with the 'Pumpkin Patch Path,' Mt. Ida Church, Mystical Fortune Teller, Menacing Mad Scientist, 'Hocus Pocus Midway,' and Photo Studio.
