The Future of a Historic
Salmon Arm Landmark
|
|

Hello, everyone.
Several of our Salmon Arm Museum and Heritage Association members are on the City of Salmon Arm’s Community Heritage Commission. Two of their purposes are to advise the City of Salmon Arm Council on heritage conservation matters and to develop and implement educational and public awareness programs related to heritage conservation in the City.
The City is asking for public input on the options for the old Municipal Hall which was built in 1928 and is located at the corner of Hudson and Shuswap Street. It was most recently the Seniors Centre but has been vacant for a number of years as it is need of repairs.
The Community Heritage Commission would like the building preserved as it is important part of Salmon Arm’s history and there are very few heritage buildings remaining in Salmon Arm. A picture of the building is attached.
The City is holding a public input meeting from 6:00pm to 7:30pm next Tuesday, June 17 asking for options for the old Municipal Hall.
We would like to ask you to please attend the meeting either virtually or in person to show your support. We feel if there’s interest shown then it may be more likely the City would look on this more favourably.
Click Here for the link for information on the on the meeting.
Please come out to show your support – you are not required to speak unless you want to!
Thank you,
Norma Harisch
